Can you tell us a bit about your business and what inspired you to start it?

Purchased an existing small mobile reflexology business in 2023. Met Maree at a WBA Coffee Catch Up at the Mindarie Marina and felt an instant connection when chatting to her. They were just starting Altr and I just felt comfortable and confident with both Maree and her business plan.
It took 6 months for us to find our feet (still using our previous accountant) before we made the official move and transferred all our data over to Altr. Maree had kept in contact the whole time and was always available and willing to listen and offer advice where and when required. This was an exceptional experience as this was my first time as a business owner and needing to set up and fully functioning accounting service.
What’s one of the biggest challenges you have faced and how did you overcome it?
Our biggest challenge to date was transferring all our old data from MYOB into Xero and restructuring the whole accounting and bookkeeping process and incorporating a Practice Management Software system (that is not seemless).
Maree has been instrumental in diligently working through all our software issues linking Xero to our Practice Software and correcting, applying and allocating transactions to ensure a more streamlined and functional business model. The ongoing issues with the integration of Halaxy and Xero have been and continue to be a headache, however both Maree and Lucy are always willing to go the extra mile to assist wherever possible and definitely go above and beyond their service agreement with us.
What has been your biggest success or win?
Biggest win - finding Maree
How has working with us impacted your business?
Working with the Altr Team has resulted in a streamlined and well functioning business model. I am constantly learning from Maree as she is happy and willing to spend time with me to help me grow as a business owner.
What’s one thing you know now you wish you’d know when you started your business?
Have a good accountant and business advisor before you start so that things are set right the first time. It saves time and money and definately a lot of stress.
